Dance has always been a part of me, from grooving through grocery store aisles as a child to finding my “happy place” in the studio at age three. By 13, I was winning regional titles and scholarships, but it wasn’t the trophies that kept me going—it was the joy of performing and expressing myself in ways words couldn’t. After competing nationally with Arizona State University’s Spiritline, I became an NBA cheerleader with the iconic Purple and Gold, dancing center court at Staples Center and discovering a deeper passion for giving back through community events. A chance meeting with a Bachata pioneer led me to an unexpected career shift, training, teaching, and performing internationally in Latin dance. By 2016, I launched Empowered Movement Dance Company to combine technical dance with empowerment, while also leading as a captain for the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders. Balancing entrepreneurship, a return to the Lakers, and earning my BA in Psychology, I worked to make my dream of opening a studio a reality, and in 2021, that dream came true with the launch of EMDC Studio—a space where dance, expression, and empowerment thrive.

 

Now, in 2024, I am excited to embark on a new chapter in my career: consulting. This venture allows me to help other dance creatives and entrepreneurs turn their art into thriving businesses. Drawing on years of experience as a professional dancer, instructor, and business owner, I am passionate about guiding others to achieve their goals and create meaningful impact in the dance industry. I look forward to empowering the next generation of creatives to build sustainable careers while pursuing their passion
